At what point DOES one cave and call the thing ‘heredity’

I’m picturing like a pathetic Homer Simpson, on the couch in his underwear, slumped over with a frothy beard of can-cream and an empty whipped cream can in his hand.
Do other species contain delicious creams in metal cans? I submit they do not (well, maybe some sentient ones far away).
